i went to an auction saturday. a real country junk auction where most items are sold by the box full. as i breeze through the crap in the freezing cold (indoors!) and my flashlight spots a bushel basket with 18th century planes sticking out like firewood. CRISPY 18th C planes. trying to remain calm i paw through them and find two joe fullers and a fuller & field. all three are crispy and complex as they come. my heart is pounding. three hours later sitting in this freezing cold barn watching dolls and blankets and old shoes selling for $2 each, i couldn't take it any more. i had to tip my hand and ask the auctioneer to put the basket up for sale. the auctioneer is wise enough to know that there is something good in this basket now and won't be foolish enough to sell it as a lot. lots like this at this auction sell for $10. by the way there are $1300 dollars worth of tools in the basket....this ten dollar basket. long story short the auctioneer parted it all out. i got the rarest of the planes for $15 and the rest for a song. i hope the guy who bid $14 never reads this.

it will take weeks to list the Georgia tools but if you suscribe to our newsletter you will see some advance peeks at some jaw dropping tools.
just back from the peach meet with over a ton of tools. thanks to doug fowler for his hard work and a great meet. while in georgia we picked up a collection of over 150 tools too phenomenal to describe. each tool is the best example available of it's kind... every tool!|

when you plow 30 inches of snow try this little tip: place the snow in the ditch next to the road as the passing lane is used by tool dealers to pass slower moving vehicles. i got to watch the superbowl on tape while i assume the wv plowmen got to watch in real time.
